Social Studies Supplement: Election

For these lessons I did politics, studying about the different candidates, the USA's issues, and the structure of the government.

I shall include Obama's full biography.

OBAMA was born in Hawaii. After High School, Obama moved to Los Angeles and attended Occidental College for two years. He then transferred to Columbia University in New York City. After four years in New York City, Obama moved to Chicago, where he was hired as director of the Developing Communities Project (DCP) (a church-based community project) and worked there for three years from June 1985 to May 1988. Obama's mother died in 1995. Obama was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1996. On February 10, 2007, Obama announced his running for President of the United States. During the campaign, Obama has made the issues of rapidly ending the Iraq War, increasing energy efficiency, and providing health care for all his top three priorities.

The USA's issues are:

Education: Most schools have horrible curriculums, and poverty is starting to become a major problem.

Environment: The earth is at a brittle state. It has some ozone holes, and the ice caps are melting. Production is producing blanket gases that clog the earth and trap sunlight. Cars are a huge problem too.

Health: Lots of people are dying with no-one to help them. Health insurance is expensive, and with obesity becoming a problem, many people are getting organ attacks.

War/Iraq War: War is a pointless way of deciding, and the Iraq war was made because G.W. Bush took advantage of the plane crash in 2001, and accused the leaders in Iraq to have atomic weapons. Now many people are dying because of a hollow accusation.

Economy/Jobs: The stock market is plummeting down. Many people are starving because they don't have jobs.

Terrorism/Nationwide Security

2001 was horrible. A few hijackers stole planes. One was headed for the White House, but crashed before it reached. Another one the flew to the Pentagon. The other two crashed into the two towers of the world trade center, and blew them up. We need new security. Microbugs, and updated bug sweepers.

In conclusion, the USA has many issues, and they are not being resolved at all.

This election is very important, because the entire world is falling apart. The environment, wars, and technological development. We need an environmentally-inclined peace leader.

McCain wants war. He wants super weapons. And he lies about his environment decisions.

Palin thinks being vice president is the same as being governor.

Obama is perfect, since he is the environmentally-inclined peace leader that we need. Biden goes along with Obama, and has lots of experience.

UPDATE: Obama won! This incredibly good, for all the reasons I have listed!
