Nest Building
Today we used pretend play to learn more about how birds build nests. This activity was inspired by a book called Nature in a Nutshell for Kids: Over 100 Activities You Can Do in Ten Minutes or Less.
We started out with a wire hanger and a mesh onion bag. Then we flew around the yard to collect various twigs, grasses and leaves to build our nest. We discovered that building a nest isn't very easy to do. It takes a lot of time, patience and diligence to make a nest a home.
